Novigrad – antique town

Novigrad is a small antique town, situated on a peninsula, on the west coast of Istria, exactly half-way between the towns of Umag and Poreč. It developed in the 18th century, on a small island, which was later joined to the mainland. It has a preserved network of medieval ruins, palaces, ramparts and towers, from where it defended itself.

Novigrad represents a blend of tradition, style and hospitality. Here, walking in the old

medieval town centre, you can experience the spirit of bygone centuries, abandon yourselves to tastes of the traditional cuisine and admire the immodest beauty of the Adriatic and its unspoiled beaches.

Very little has really changed for a guest since old mariners sailed these seas. Today, too, in the streets of Novigrad, visitors will sit and enjoy casual conversations, absorbing the course of life of this fishing place, accompanied by a glass of malvazija, muskat or teran wine.
